Cancellation policy

At Scuba Legends, every activity is prepared in advance, including staff planning, equipment preparation, boat reservations, and logistics. For this reason, the following cancellation policy applies to all bookings.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By confirming a booking and/or making any payment, the customer expressly accepts these Terms and Conditions, including the following Cancellation Policy.

These terms form part of the legally binding agreement between the customer and Scuba Legends.

2. Identification of the Contracting Party

The person completing the booking (hereinafter “the Contracting Party”) acts on behalf of all participants included in the booking and is solely responsible for:

  • Communication with Scuba Legends
  • Submitting any modifications or cancellation requests
  • Accepting the Terms and Conditions on behalf of all participants

Requests from other participants will not be considered valid.

3. How to cancel

All cancellations must be submitted in writing by email to:

[email protected]

A cancellation is only considered valid once it has been received and confirmed by Scuba Legends.

  • Messages via WhatsApp, phone, or social media are not valid cancellation methods
  • Scuba Legends is not responsible for emails not received due to technical issues, spam filters, or incorrect address entry

We recommend requesting an automatic delivery or read receipt via your email provider.

4. How cancellation deadlines are calculated

Cancellation deadlines are based on calendar days, not hours.

  • The day of the activity itself is not counted
  • The required number of full days must be completed before the activity date

Cancellation deadline: 4 January at 23:59

This rule applies to all bookings unless otherwise specified below.

If a booking is modified (e.g. add-ons, change of participants, services or activities):

  • Any group discount, package price, or promotion becomes void
  • The booking will be recalculated using standard individual shop prices

8. Non-refundable costs already incurred

Some costs are committed in advance and cannot be recovered, even if a booking is cancelled within the cancellation period.

These may include:

  • Course materials (e.g. manuals, eLearning access)
  • Individual equipment purchases
  • Dive accident insurance
  • Specific third-party services

These costs will be retained to the extent already incurred and non-recoverable in the event of cancellation or changes, even if a partial refund would otherwise apply.

9. Vouchers & credits

  • Vouchers and credits are non-refundable once purchased
  • They must be used within their validity period (365 days from the moment of purchase)
  • Once activity dates are confirmed, no refund or rescheduling is possible

10. Late arrival / no-show

  • More than 15 minutes late is considered a no-show
  • When transfers are involved (land or water), any delay will prevent participation in the activity.

  • Missing medical clearance (review medical questionnaire prior to booking!)
  • Incomplete or late online check-in
  • Failure to complete required theory prior to course start
  • Arriving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Not meeting requirements communicated in advance

12. Weather conditions

Activity locations are selected based on safety, weather conditions, and experience level. Wind, rain, waves, or clouds do not entitle to free cancellation. If weather or unforeseen circumstances affect a booking, activities may be relocated or adapted. If an activity cannot take place, a reschedule or a voucher for the remaining services will be offered.

13. Goodwill exceptions

Any exception outside this policy is granted voluntarily and without legal obligation. Such goodwill solutions do not imply any recognition of legal obligation and do not create precedent.

Need to cancel or change your booking?

Please contact us as early as possible at:

[email protected]

We will always try to help where possible, but ask for your understanding that diving activities involve planning and costs that cannot always be reversed at short notice.

Payments & refunds

Payment is required at the time of booking. In the event of cancellation, any applicable refund will be processed in accordance with the cancellation policy and returned using the original payment method.

Health & medical statement

Regardless of the experience level, all participants must be medically fit & healthy for diving. Ensuring medical fitness for diving is the responsibility of each participant, and a doctor’s statement may be necessary for certain medical conditions. Therefore, prior to booking/partaking in any diving activity, it is essential to thoroughly review the medical questionnaire. Should the need for a doctor’s statement arise, adherence to the instructions delineated on the form is requisite. Subsequently, please send a PDF scan of the document via email, ideally no later than 2 days preceding the scheduled activity.

Should a participant be unable to provide a medical statement signed by a qualified physician when mandated, it is in accordance with Spanish law that they will be precluded from engaging in the diving activity. Regrettably, neither refunds nor rescheduling will be feasible under such circumstances. Please note that diving is a risk sport. Your honesty is required and particularly important for your and your buddy’s safety, but also for the welfare of our staff. Should any uncertainties regarding medical fitness persist, or should advice be warranted, please feel free to please reach our to us.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that students enrolled in professional courses such as the PADI Divemaster or Instructor course are subject to the same medical statement requirement, irrespective of their current medical condition.

Course certification

We wish to inform you that Scuba Legends maintains the authority to withhold certification upon completion of any course should the instructor determine that the student has not met the requisite standards and requirements. It is imperative to understand that certification cannot be guaranteed solely through payment.

Our training sessions adhere strictly to the standards set forth by the diving association, with most skills building upon one another and necessitating successful completion to progress further. Unless a private course has been arranged, if a student opts to discontinue the training or is unable to fulfill the skill requirements despite ample training and practice time, the instructor must proceed with the remaining participants to ensure the course progresses as scheduled.

As outlined in our cancellation policy, neither rescheduling nor refunds are permitted in such cases. However, additional training sessions may be arranged at an additional cost, subject to availability.

The Open Water Course is perfect for beginners and doesn’t require any previous diving experience. But if you’re not comfortable in the ocean or not sure about getting certified yet, it’s a good idea to try diving before signing up for a course. If you’re really nervous or had a bad experience before, you might want to think about booking a private course. That way, the instructor can focus entirely on helping you. If you need more advice, just get in touch with us.

Diving insurance

The Spanish law requires every diver to have a personal diving insurance. Non-certified divers are covered by the dive center. Certified divers can sign up for our daily or long-term plans with DAN IDA insurance. If you have a personal diving insurance, please share the insurance details and possible depth limitations with us.

In addition to a diving insurance, we also strongly recommend a general travel insurance from your local provider to cover non-diving accidents or illnesses abroad.

Use of equipment

When the diving equipment used by the participant is provided by SCUBA LEGENDS, it is the customer’s responsibility to return the equipment to the dive center in the same condition as it was delivered. The customer is responsible for inspecting the provided equipment before use and must report any irregularities or defects. Independently of the activity and the reason, in the event of loss or damage of the used equipment, the customer must cover the costs of repair or replacement of the said material.

Special offers

Special offers, discount codes, group discounts and promotions are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time without prior notice. If a booking is modified (e.g. changes to participants, services, activities, or dates), it will be recalculated based on current prices and conditions. Any previously applied discounts will no longer apply.
