Hollis and Oceanic Sold

This year is definitely the year of changes in the diving industry. First was the acquisition of Aqualung , and then the never-ending soap opera of the PADI sell. Now, Huish Outdoors, LLC  acquires Oceanic and Hollis brands from American Underwater Products ("AUP").

With this acquisition, Huish Outdoors makes up a powerful group. It will hold some of the best diving brands in the world in one company: ATOMIC AQUATICS, BARE, LIQUIVISION, HOLLIS, OCEANIC, SHARKSKIN, STAHLSAC, ZEAGLE and SUUNTO.

"Adding Oceanic and Hollis to the Huish Outdoors family of brands is an important step for our company," said Mike Huish, CEO of Huish Outdoors. "These two industry-leading brands round out our portfolio and enable us to offer a full range of product categories and a full range of pricing to our retail partners, and take advantage of our consumer choice strategy. Best in the retail choice category - rather than a one-brand approach to buying all of its equipment. Pursuing our approach to brand selection in retail has been critical to our growth and we believe this trend will continue in the future. Future "

Huish Outdoors makes up a powerful group with : ATOMIC AQUATICS, BARE, LIQUIVISION, HOLLIS, OCEANIC, SHARKSKIN, STAHLSAC, ZEAGLE and SUUNTO.

Bob Hollis said: "The Hollis family could not be more excited to work with Huish Outdoors on the future growth of these brands under their new ownership. We are grateful to be part of such a progressive company that believes in boosting industry participation through product innovation. An approach I have taken since I started manufacturing diving equipment "

Once more, we will have to wait to see how all the changes and such beautiful words affect the industry. It is true that all these acquisitions by large companies highlight the increasing popularity of our favourite sport. Perhaps it is necessary to pay particular attention to the overcrowding of it. It is well known that the overcrowding of any industry goes hand in hand with a dramatic decline in quality. Downside that, quite possibly, is already being noticed.
