PADI 5 STAR IDC CENTRE IN LANZAROTE

On January 31st, the death of Rob Stewart shocked the world of diving. Any fatality underwater is a big loose, no exceptions. In this case the world not only lost a diver, but one of the strongest and most active shark defenders.

Released in 2006, the movie “Sharkwater” has been awarded more than 50 times and became an icon against shark fining all around the world. Rob was filming for the second part of the movie called “Sharkwater: Extinction” which was almost complete. Rob’s parents published a statement in which they ensure to finish the work of their son.

THE STATEMENT OF ROB STEWART’S FAMILY

“The outpouring of love, support, encouragement and prayers we’ve received from across the globe since Rob went missing continues to be overwhelming. We’d like to reiterate our profound appreciation and respect for the U.S. Coast Guard, the three levels of Canadian political officials who offered their assistance, and all of the many professionals and selfless volunteers who committed their time and resources in trying to bring our son and brother home safely.”

“Our hearts are broken. While we are overcome with grief, we know in our hearts that Rob is at peace and that he would want us to continue his mission to save the sharks and the oceans, and to inspire the world to protect and nurture our planet. We are committed to realizing Rob’s goals and will not rest until the change he fought for tirelessly is achieved.”

Scuba Legends wishes all the best for completing the second movie. We hope that Rob’s work doesn’t stop with his passing but gets stronger than ever before. Hopefully one day we can all look back in time and say Rob saved the sharks from their extinction. There is no better and honourable cause to die for.
