The PADI Divemaster is the first professional rating and is the beginning of your diving career. As a Divemaster you are a role model for other divers. They will look up to you and learn from you. You will be the right hand of the PADI Instructor. You will lead, supervise, motivate divers and assist in their training

Since we believe the divemaster training is the fundamental base of every future dive professional we take your training and education very serious. Your certification is more than just a plastic card. We are honest, you will have to earn it with sweat and effort. You will go through physically and psychologically exhausting and challenging moments, as we all did once. From experience we can tell you, it’s worth it!

 

What will you learn?

During your 1-month internship you will be part of our team. Your training will include knowledge development sessions, practical assessments, waterskills exercises & workshops as well as presentations.

 

The PADI Divemaster Training includes the following topics.

 

  • The role and characteristics of the PADI Divemaster
  • Supervising dive activities and assisting with student divers
  • Diver safety and risk management
  • Divemaster conducted programs and specialized skills
  • Business of diving and your career
  • Awareness of the dive environment
  • Dive setup and management
  • Mapping an open water site
  • Conducting dive briefings
  • Organizing a search and recovery project and a deep dive
  • Conducting a scuba review and skin diver course
  • Assisting with Discover Scuba Diving and leading Discover Local Diving programs

 

In addition, you will take part in our daily dive center tasks and logistics including, but not limited to, check-in divers on arrival and learn about paperwork, hand out/ set up and clean dive equipment, prepare and load dive trips. Working closely with our instructors you will be participating and assisting in our snorkel and diving excursions, as well as during pool demonstrations.

 

You will have fun training sessions with your instructor and other trainees. Our staff is open minded and highly interested in teaching and sharing their knowledge. We love to dive and to talk about diving! You will make incredible experiences, improve your diving  as well as personal skills, meet new people & cultures and live the dream. Wake up with the sun in your face and say good morning to the Atlantic.

 

To start the PADI Divemaster course you need to have at least 40 logged dives, be a Rescue Diver and have proof of a valid EFR training within the past 24 months. In case you do not fulfil the prerequisites yet, we can expand the training time and start from your current level.

 

If you are interested in continuing education like sidemount or full face mask diving or keen to find out more about technical diving, there are plenty of opportunities during your internship.

 

Equipment

As a future dive professional, you’ll want to have all your basic scuba equipment, including a dive computer, a dive knife, and at least two surface signaling devices.

  • 18 years +
  • Rescue Diver, Emergency First Responder
  • Medically fit for diving
